The boy sees a girl with a mask on, and went to go and talk to her. Before he could, the intercom went off, so he decided to follow the guide to the auditorium instead, keeping his head down along the way.

Little did the party know that this "kid" was right behind them, now whisking his blonde hair away like dough. Jamison paid no heed to the conversation and the general noise around him.

Behind Eva, you can see a window peering into a classroom. Within this classroom, exhibits full of animals are present and a lacrin is seen managing the creatures. Above the door of this room has a sign reading "The Menagerie".

The crowd is getting closer and closer to their destination, now what lies before them is an open entrance with two doors swung wide open to reveal a dim lit auditorium. All of the freshmen ahead of you race for the front-row seats, it would be best if you grabbed a seat before all of them were taken. If you do decide to take a seat, it was a comfortable experience, so comfortable that you could sleep in it- the velvet seats had a cup holder and everything. The balcony was completely packed, but not with students and this Duke figure was just gone as soon as he stepped in.

Eva leans up against the wall as soon as he enters.

Dorian, not knowing where else to go, also leans on the wall; examining the other students as they walk in to find a seat.

Jaden's eyes go wide as they flick about the auditorium, trying to take in every single detail that has suddenly been presented to him. He takes one look at the mobbed seats and skirts the crowd, looking for an empty spot where he can listen without interruption to the message doubtlessly about to be given from the stage in front of the whole grand affair. He finds a small clear space among the press of the other students, and crouches down, maneuvering to get a good look at the stage from his newly lowered position. He feels his heart begin to accelerate with excitement, but he keeps his face straight and his movements smooth.

The glare of a crown shines in your eye. Duke stood right next to the duo, tapping his foot against the floor due to the insane boredom. "What are y'all doing back here?" The seats were filled and the lights began to focus on the main stage, the main event was about to begin.

@Dorian
When you looked at the other students, you could see people of a variety of different races, social classes, and appearances. The most striking of which was the comb "kid".

@Jaden
You stole one of the seats in the front row, lucky dog. Heck, you can even see Juniper Parnas, the face of Catalyst Academy peering from behind the curtains.

Dorian turns to face the man with the shiny crown.
"We're watching the event." He crosses his arms and goes back to looking at the stage.

Naia clumsily bumps up next to Eva, sipping on the lemonade can he gave her.

"Oh, I'm Naia, sorry." Naia answered, finding it odd he forgot her name so quickly. She sipped the lemonade and looked around the swirling mass of bright lights and students.

He waves his hand "Nah, we can see from back here. It's okay."

Beth runs down the long hallway, she turns the corner and slams her head into the threshold. Wincing, she opens the door to the large auditorium and scans the room. She drags her feet as she trudges about the room, searching for Yin. ".... Ow...." She groans, "late again, but it's way more enjoyable when we're late together..." She smiles weakly to herself.

The boy enters the auditorium, stunned by the beautiful architecture. He walks around, and his mind starts to drift. From the balcony, to the walls, to even the seats, it all seemed so grand compared to his known world. Lightly slapping his cheeks, the boy finds the first empty seat he can find and relaxes in it's comfortable velvet padding.

You see the last wave of people crowd around the entrance of the auditorium as you run through the expansive labyrinth known as Catalyst Academy. There was nobody at the banquet when you arrived.

Emery is quite late to the party and gets a seat in the very back row, all he can really hear is the chatter behind him from the lemonade delinquents.

Everyone sees an elderly woman walking onto the stage with the confidence only found in youngsters. She positions herself behind the podium, with one hand on a runic symbol and the other with basic notes. The lights oriented themselves to only shine on Juniper, leaving the rest of the auditorium dark.
"Welcome new students, to Catalyst Academy! Firstly, I’d like to congratulate you all for being admitted here. We didn’t exactly make it easy for everyone, but despite your turmoils, be it large or small, you stuck it out and made it. Secondly, I’m inspired by the plethora of new minds I see before me. New and malleable minds still with space for knowledge and wisdom from our teachers. Both from the staff and from the events that will follow from you choosing to pursue magic.
Something inexplicable I’ve noticed, but no matter where we go, trouble follows us mages. Stepping onto this campus has set your fate towards a path of myths and legends. Your story will be a long one and won’t be an easy ride. At any point, you may step out of here and return home, but why is it that you came here? From here, I see shades, fae, humans, elves, lacrin, and dwarves of all kinds with something bringing them here. Surely, you wouldn’t want to all go back after all this work. Right?

She takes a pause in her speech, expecting some sort of response from the audience.

Duke grabs it in a flash and pulls the metal tab on the top with so much force that it flings up to the balcony. He begins to chug the drink down in its entirety, downing it in a matter of seconds. "A growing de- human needs its nutrition." He chuckles and tosses the can behind him with no consideration at all. Poor janitors. "Even though she doesn't have a script, the hag somehow manages to make the same speech every single year."
